A wide-ranging enrichment programme, every year

Glebelands offers a fantastic range of trips and enrichment opportunities across the school year — from theatre visits and GCSE field trips to residential experiences in Iceland, France, Spain, Italy and Germany. These trips add real depth to learning and give students experiences they'll remember long after they've left Glebelands.

School trips are a wonderful part of life at Glebelands, but it's worth remembering: attendance on a trip is a privilege, not an automatic right. Places are offered based on behaviour, punctuality, effort and attendance, and a place can be withdrawn if these standards aren't maintained.

Many of our trips — particularly residentials — are only possible because staff give up their own personal time, including evenings and weekends, to make them happen. We're enormously grateful for that goodwill, and we ask parents and students to treat every trip with the respect and appreciation it deserves.

Enrichment Day: every March

Every March, the whole school takes part in Enrichment Day — a day out at a variety of locations across the South East, with something on offer for every year group. It's a brilliant day, and one of the highlights of the school calendar.

For any student who can't attend, or would prefer not to, a full day of exciting activities is planned on-site at school — so every student has a great day either way.

What's on offer this year

Our trips programme spans every year group and every area of school life, including:

Theatre trips (London, once per term)
GCSE subject trips — Geography, History, Art, English and more
Residentials — including Iceland, Berlin, Spain, France (Battlefields) and Italy (Ski Trip)
Enrichment Day in March
Prom for our Year 11 leavers

Full details of dates, locations and prices are sent to parents by letter for the relevant year group throughout the year.

How booking works

Theatre and musical trips: a letter is sent out, and parents have at least 48 hours to give consent and pay via Bromcom, on a first come, first served basis.
Residential and limited-place trips: parents register interest via an online form (minimum 48 hours). If oversubscribed, places are allocated by ballot, taking behaviour and safety into account. Successful applicants must then secure their place with the required deposit or payment by the deadline given.

Payment and consent: please act promptly

We can't stress this enough: trip deadlines matter, and we need parents to hit them.

Behind every trip is significant work — risk assessments, staffing, transport, ticket bookings and insurance — all of which have to be finalised well in advance, often with hard external deadlines that the school itself cannot move. With over 50 trips and fixtures running across the school each year, a missed payment or late consent doesn't just affect one family — it holds up the whole process for staff trying to confirm numbers, book transport, and organise safe supervision for everyone involved.

If a deadline is missed, a place will be offered to the next student on the waiting list. Deposits and bookings are non-refundable once confirmed, so please read letters carefully and act promptly.
