Tutors

Who can you talk to? Your tutor.

Every day starts with your tutor group — and your tutor is one of the people at Glebelands who gets to know you, not just your grades. You'll see them every single day, twice a day, so they're the person who'll notice if something's off, celebrate with you when things go well, and help sort things out when they don't.

Your House is your people. Tutor groups are made up of students from every year group, all in the same house — so you're not just with people your own age. You'll get to know older students who've been through what you're going through, and younger ones who'll look up to you. It's a bit like having a second, smaller school within the school — one where people know your name.

What can you talk to your tutor about?

Honestly? Pretty much anything:

  • Worries about work, deadlines, or a subject you're stuck on
  • Friendships, fallouts, feeling left out
  • Something going on at home that's on your mind
  • Feeling anxious, low, or just not quite yourself
  • Something that happened that you want an adult to know about

Why start here?

Your tutor sees you every day, so they'll usually spot things early — and they know the right next steps if you need more support. Starting with your tutor means things get sorted faster, by someone who already knows you.

Remember: you don't have to have a "big" problem to talk to your tutor. Small worries matter too, and it's always better to say something than to sit with it alone.

Keeping you safe

If you are worried about your safety in   or out of school, you can always speak to one of our Safeguarding Leads.  You can easily recognise them because they wear purple lanyards with the words 'Safeguarding Lead' on them.  You can see pictures of the people here, or you can talk to ANY member of staff you feel you can trust.
