GCSE Results 2026
We are delighted to share the provisional GCSE outcomes for our Year 11 students, which represent another record-breaking year for Glebelands School and continue the exceptional upward trajectory we have seen over recent years.
Our students have achieved an outstanding 85% Basics (Grade 4+ in English and Mathematics) and 56% Strong Basics (Grade 5+), alongside an exceptional Attainment 8 score of 56.35 – all of which are the strongest results in the school's history.
There are many aspects of these results that deserve celebration:
- 87% of all GCSE grades were awarded at Grade 4 or above, with 32% achieving the highest grades (7–9).
- The attainment score of 56.35 would in previous years put the school in the top 15% of schools nationally (we are a non-selective comprehensive school who are National average on entry).
- 87% of students achieved 2+ grades at 9-4 in Science.
- Students with SEND achieved excellent results, demonstrating the impact of our inclusive approach and our commitment to ensuring every student succeeds.
- Excellent performances were seen across all subjects, reflecting the breadth and strength of the curriculum on offer at Glebelands.
These outstanding results are the product of years of hard work, resilience and determination from our students, together with the unwavering commitment of our exceptional staff and the invaluable support of parents and carers.
While we rightly celebrate these achievements, we remain committed to continual improvement. We will carefully analyse the data over the coming weeks and use it to inform our priorities as we continue striving to provide the very best education for every young person at Glebelands.
Most importantly, we are exceptionally proud of every member of our Year 11 cohort. Whether students have exceeded their expectations, achieved personal goals or overcome significant challenges to reach this point, they should all be incredibly proud of what they have accomplished. We wish each and every one of them every success and happiness as they embark on the next stage of their academic journey and look forward to hearing about their future achievements in the years to come.
GCSE Results 2025
Our Year 11 students delivered outstanding results last summer, building on the previous year's record-breaking performance. Progress measures suggest this cohort did even better than 2024, when Glebelands ranked in the top 10% of schools nationally. Many students achieved 10 or more GCSEs at grades 8–9, and around 85% achieved grade 4 or above in English, Maths and Science.
Special congratulations to SM, who made school history with 14 grades at 8 or 9, and to CL, whose Chemistry result was among the highest in the country. Several students also achieved maximum or near-maximum attainment scores, including AJ, CL, and AM (all scoring 90 out of 90).
We're incredibly proud of this cohort — not just for their results, but for the leadership, kindness and enthusiasm they've shown as role models across the school. We wish them every success as they move on to the next stage of their journey.
GCSE Results 2024
Glebelands celebrated an exceptional set of GCSE results in 2024, with strong achievement across all subjects and abilities.
- 32% of grades were at Grade 7 or higher
- 9% of all grades were the top Grade 9 — a school record
- 79% of grades were awarded at Grade 4 or above
- 38% of students achieved the EBacc
Progress scores exceeded +0.6 across all measures used, placing Glebelands in the top 10% of schools nationally for progress. All student groups — including our SEND students — showed strong progress from their starting points.
One student achieved a remarkable 10 Grade 9s, an exceptional individual accomplishment. Nearly a third of students achieved 5 or more grades at 7–9, and five students achieved a progress score above +2.5.
We thank our staff, students, and parents/carers, whose hard work and support made these results possible.
