Staff Vacancies

Glebelands is a school that knows its strengths — and refuses to stop building on them. Teaching and learning sit at the heart of everything we do, underpinning the excellent progress our students make and the standards they achieve. But our ambition goes beyond results. We believe that every young person who walks through our doors should leave as a happy, confident individual — equipped with the skills, values and resilience to lead a fulfilling life and make a genuine contribution to the world around them.

Our staff don't just teach — they make a difference. That belief runs through everything we do, and it's what drives us to keep improving, every single day.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and all sectors of the community. We actively seek colleagues who reflect the rich social and cultural diversity of our students, and we believe that diverse teams make better schools. Above all, we look for people with the right skills, abilities and genuine passion for the job — because ultimately, it is the quality of our people that shapes the experience and future of every student at Glebelands.

Please refer to our policies page for our policy on Recruitment & Selection.

  • Jess Williams

    Receptionist

I joined the admin team earlier this year and I was instantly made to feel welcome. It’s a relaxed but professional environment. The students are polite and a pleasure to work with, each day is varied and a good atmosphere to work in.

  • Harry Hearn

    Learning Support Assistant

I joined Glebelands as a Learning Support Assistant in September 2020. Within my role I support students who have additional learning needs in a wide range of subjects. This support may be in lessons, small groups or in a 1:1 setting. I have been trained to deliver Catch Up Numeracy and so spend some of my lessons delivering additional Maths sessions to those students who need additional support. As I have only very recently completed my GCSEs and A levels I know a lot of the topics and the exam requirements in the subjects I studied, and find this an asset to the role. I am finding this to be a very rewarding job.

  • Amanda Van Eeden

    Geography Teacher

I joined Glebelands school in September 2021 after completing my QTS and PGCE. I knew this was the right school for me from the moment I was welcomed into the staff room. The relaxed and friendly conversations and the effort made by the staff to be inclusive made me feel welcome and at ease from the start. During my first ECT year, I have been supported by my Mentor, Professional Mentor, and Head of Department in various ways including encouragement, provision of clear guidance and advice. I have valued the happy and collaborative work environment that exists at Glebelands which is a credit to the leadership and all the staff that work with me and has allowed me to feel at home as part of the school.

  • Jasmine Brewer

    Head of Mathematics

I joined the school as a Second in Department aspiring to become the Head of Department. The school have given my endless support in this, allowing me to attend a range of training courses along with offering tailored CPD sessions and providing me with the opportunities to lead. There has been a constant open dialogue between my current Head of Department, the Headteacher and myself about my leadership strengths and areas for improvement, supported with a gradual hand over to ensure I am ready for that next leadership step. From this constant collaborative approach, I feel better prepared to take on the role.

  • Howard Hoare

    Assistant Headteacher

Glebelands School is a close-knit community school in every sense of the word. Everyone knows and looks out for everyone, students and staff alike. I joined the school six years as Head of Mathematics and was given full support by the Senior Leadership Team to develop the department in line my vision. Throughout the six years opportunities have been created for me to further develop my leadership skills by working on school-wide initiatives, firstly in an Associate role and then more recently as an Assistant Headteacher. The school is progressive in its outlook and is always looking for ways of providing the best education and support for the students. Glebelands is a wonderful teaching environment, with excellent resources and students who make you love the job! If you are a good teacher, with great ambition and enthusiasm you will be supported and encouraged to go on and achieve fantastic things in your career at Glebelands.
