It's not snitching. It's saving a life.

As you get older, you're out and about more — parties, evenings with friends, more independence. With that comes more responsibility too, and one of the most important things we can teach you is this: if you know someone is carrying a knife, tell someone. Anonymously, safely, and without fear.

Our work with Charlie's Promise

For the past three years, Glebelands has supported Charlie's Promise, a charity founded by Martin Cosser in memory of his son, Charlie, who was killed as a result of knife crime in 2023. Martin has spoken to tens of thousands of young people, parents and educators across the UK, sharing Charlie's story to help others understand just how quickly a night out can turn into tragedy — and how carrying a knife, or staying silent about someone who is, can change lives forever.

Martin's message has always been simple, and it's one we ask every student to carry with them:

• Never carry a knife.
• Always report anyone who does.

Why this matters

You're at the stage now where you're socialising more independently — different friendship groups, parties, less direct supervision. That's a really normal and healthy part of growing up. But it also means it's more important than ever that you know what to do if you see or hear about someone carrying a knife, even if it feels awkward, even if it's someone you know.

Reporting isn't about getting someone "in trouble." It's about stopping something terrible before it happens — to them, or to somebody else.

How to report it — anonymously

You never have to give your name. You will never be identified. That's the whole point of Fearless (run by Crimestoppers) — it exists so you can pass on information completely anonymously, whether that's about a knife, a weapon, or anything else that's worrying you.
